Intensivist

An intensivist is a board-certified physician who takes special care of critically ill patients. They are also known as "critical care physicians," as they have advanced training and experience in handling and treating complex types of patients. An intensivist is a specialist trained in surgery, internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, or pediatrics. Rather than focusing on specific body systems like cardiologists or pulmonologists, intensivists take a comprehensive approach to caring for ICU patients.
